Important Technical Note: Electric ball valves are typically designed with internal female threaded ports on both ends. They must always be interfaced using appropriate adapter fittings and should never be directly force-fitted onto pipelines.
1. Connecting to PE Rigid Pipes (Black Main Pipelines, 25mm–63mm)
Required Adapter: Female Thread × PE Compression Coupling (Locking Nut Type)
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Thread Preparation: Wrap 5 to 7 turns of PTFE thread seal tape (Teflon tape) around the female threaded ports of the electric ball valve, then screw in the male threaded end of the adapter.
- Pipe Preparation: Cut the PE pipe cleanly and square, ensuring all burrs and sharp edges are removed.
- Assembly: Unscrew the locking nut. Slide the locking nut and rubber sealing ring onto the PE pipe in sequence. Insert the pipe fully into the fitting body until it bottoms out, then securely tighten the locking nut. (No heat fusion required).
- Key Advantage: Quick to assemble and disassemble; this is the most reliable and widely used connection method for buried field drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.

2. Connecting to PVC-U Rigid Pipes (Grey Plastic Piping)
Required Adapter: Female Thread × PVC Male Threaded Adapter (Socket × Male Thread)
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Thread Connection: Wrap PTFE tape around the ball valve’s female threads, then tightly thread in the PVC male adapter.
- Solvent Cementing: Evenly apply dedicated PVC solvent cement to both the outside of the PVC pipe end and the inside socket of the adapter.
- Joint Alignment: Quickly insert the pipe fully into the socket, rotate it 1/4 turn to evenly distribute the cement, and hold firmly for 10–15 seconds to set position.
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: NEVER use PVC solvent cement on PE pipes. It will fail to bond and result in high-pressure water leaks.
*Note: Allow the solvent cement to fully cure before pressurizing the system (a 24-hour cure time is recommended).

3. Connecting to Flexible Hoses / Layflat Hoses (Canvas Layflat, Plastic Soft Hoses)
Required Adapter: Female Thread × Hose Barb Adapter (Male Threaded Barb) + Stainless Steel Hose Clamps
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Thread Connection: Wrap PTFE tape onto the ball valve’s female threads and firmly screw in the male hose barb adapter.
- Hose Attachment: Push the flexible hose tightly over the barbed ridges of the adapter until fully seated.
- Securing: Position the stainless steel hose clamp over the hose (aligned over the barb sequence) and tighten firmly to prevent high water pressure from blowing the hose off.

Installation & Construction Pitfalls to Avoid
- Mandatory Thread Sealing: Always wrap sufficient PTFE seal tape around all threaded connections; failing to do so will cause persistent thread weeping/seepage.
- Low-Pressure Testing: After completing all pipe connections, perform a low-pressure test first to verify that no joints leak before fully opening the valve and bringing the system to working pressure.
- Actuator Protection (Valve Boxes): For underground or buried installations, always enclose the electric ball valve inside a protective valve box. This prevents direct exposure to sunlight, standing water, and mud, which could damage the electric actuator.
