A valve box is an enclosure designed to protect quick couplers, solenoid valves, stop valves, ball valves, gate valves, handheld pressure reducing valves and other valve components.

The valve box serves as a protective housing for valves, quick couplers, solenoid valves, handheld pressure reducing valves and related fittings. It is widely used in agricultural irrigation and landscape greening. Valve boxes come in round and square shapes: the 6-inch and 10-inch models are round, while the 12-inch and 14-inch sizes are square. Manufactured from high-strength plastic in turf green, the boxes blend seamlessly with lawns for an attractive appearance and easy operation. The 6-inch size is dedicated for quick couplers, whereas 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch boxes accommodate solenoid valves, manual valves, pressure reducing valves and more. Suited for agricultural irrigation and landscaping applications, they enable convenient installation, repair and maintenance of underground valves.

The operating temperature range of valve boxes varies depending on materials, structural design and application scenarios. Standard valve boxes generally operate within a temperature range of approximately -40℃ to 120℃.

For special working conditions, valve boxes made with custom high-temperature or cryogenic materials can support an extended temperature spectrum. For instance, certain high-temperature resistant valve boxes can withstand temperatures up to 500℃ or above, while cryogenic valve boxes are usable in environments as low as -196℃.

The load-bearing pressure of a valve box is determined by multiple factors, including material, structural design, dimension specifications and manufacturing processes.

For common civil and industrial valve boxes, the pressure resistance typically ranges from several megapascals (MPa) to dozens of megapascals. Ordinary cast iron valve boxes usually withstand 1.0MPa – 2.5MPa. Valve boxes fabricated from high-strength steel or special alloys with precision engineering can resist pressures up to 10MPa or higher. Custom valve boxes for high-pressure sectors such as petrochemical industries are capable of withstanding pressures of several tens of megapascals.
